Day 1 Lahad Datu / Tabin Wildlife Reserve / mud volcano / night safari
Arrive Lahad Datu Airport, meet and transfer by road to Tabin Wildlife Reserve (1.5 hrs). Check into lodge which comes complete with a private balcony, air conditioned room and hot shower, a welcome luxury in the forest. Nestled beside the rainforest and the Lipad river, this lovely setting is home to a surprising variety of birds, insects and small mammals. Discover the rich variety of jungle herbs, some endermic, used for generations by local folks for the treatment of various ailments.
In the afternoon, depart on a 20 mins jungle walk to visit the active Lipad mud volcano which provides a mineral salt lick for wildlife and also is believed to have great properties for fine skin complexion. Climb the observation tower and admire the contrasting landscape of the bare mud volcano and its surrounding forest. Trek back to resort along the elephant trail. After dinner, enjoy a slide presentation on Tabin’s natural wonders, followed by a night safari to look out for nocturnal wildlife and birds. Return to lodge for overnight. (Lunch/Dinner included)
Day 2 Tabin Wildlife Reserve
Join in the early morning walk to discover some of Tabin’s rich collection of almost 300 bird species.After breakfast, a drive to the core area for wildlife spotting and trek through the rainforest to visit the Lipad waterfall. Take a dip in the natural pool. Join the early morning bird walk to discover some of Tabin’s rich collection of more than 300 species of birds. Alternatively explore the surrounding vegetation or just relax.
In the afternoon, try out the Tabin Rainforest Foot Soak made with a natural blend of herbs, to relax tired muscles after long jungle treks.
In the evening, a dusk drive to look out for more nocturnal wildlife & birds coming out to look for food during this time of the day.

Day 3 Departure
After breakfast, free and easy until check out. (B,L)
** What to bring – Disposable raincoat, cap, sunblock lotion, insect repellent, drinking water, flashlight, leech socks, swim wear, bath towel, personal toiletries & items of personal use. Use good walking shoes and bring a pair of flat walking sandal. Comfortable cotton T-shirts with long or short pants
