Itinerary :
Day 1 Kuching / Iban Longhouse
Morning, pick up from your hotel and depart for a four hour drive to the jetty. There will be three stop-overs en-route at Serian – a Dayak trading town, a Chinese farmhouse to see how pepper and cocoa are grown and Lachau for lunch. On arrival at the river jetty, proceed by motorized longboat up river to the Longhouse. Afternoon, tour the longhouse and watch the natives at work making mats, baskets, handicrafts and mending fishing nets. After dinner, join in the fun filled evening with the traditional dance and enjoy the locally brewed rice wine known as ‘Tuak’. Overnight at the longhouse. (Lunch/Dinner included)
Day 2 Iban Longhouse / Kuching
After breakfast, witness a blowpipe demonstration and a jungle walk with guide highlighting the various plants which the natives use for food, making traditional medicine and handicraft. Return downriver and overland drive back to Kuching. (Breakfast/Lunch included)
** What to bring – Disposable raincoat, cap, sunblock lotion, insect repellent, drinking water, flashlight, swim wear (modest), towel, personal toiletries and other items of personal use. Use good walking shoe and bring a pair of flat sandal. Make your overnight pack waterproof by covering contents with large plastic bags. Bring a spare plastic bag for wet items (in case you go swimming). Comfortable cotton T-shirts with long or short pants recommended.
Note: In accordance to the Malaysian Tourism Tax Act 2017, with effect from 1st Sep 2017, all foreign tourists will be charged a flat rate of RM10 per room per night in any registered tourist accommodation premises and this is collected directly by the hotels/resorts/lodges upon check in. The Tourism Tax (TTx) is mandatory under Malaysian Law. Tourism Tax is not included in this package.
